DESCRIPTION:Comcast Cares Day at Georgetown South\nApril 21 @ 7:30 am – 1:00 pm\nBring yourself\, a friend\, your family\, a team from work\, a group from church\, your book club\, the people from Rotary\, Kiwanis\, Lions\, bring groups from middle school\, high school and college. Simply put\, bring anyone with a mind and a heart for service to make a difference for an entire community. \nGeorgetown South is a community of 860 houses\, 4\,000+ residents with at least half under the age of 18. Most of Georgetown South has come here from a country in Central or South America or Mexico. They came for a better life and now they work round the clock to have that better vida. Many of the residents will be working alongside volunteers from COMCAST CARES engaging in a number of activities to make the community more beautiful\, and most importantly\, safer. \nActivities for the day include: mulching 45 playground areas\, planting the 2018 Community Garden\, planting window boxes at the entrances and at the Georgetown South Community Center\, painting and personalizing 30 picnic tables for use throughout the  green space\, and putting house numbers to the rear of the residences. While most of the activities are about beautification\, two stand out for making Georgetown South a safer place. 1)\, the mulching of the playgrounds and 2) the task of making house number plaques to be attached to the rear fences of over 840 houses. This will be a huge help to public safety professionals trying to identify locations where assistance is needed. We need volunteers to help with this event. Many are coming from outside of Manassas to help us\, let us show how WE help ourselves.
